Regardless of project complexity or team size, a designer’s workspace should be readable not only for the designer but also for stakeholders and co-creators (PMs and Engineers). Designers often make the mistake of assuming that a file is just for them.

A design file should serve the needs of designers actively working on a project and the wider group.

There are different approaches to creating a cohesive workspace that works for specific teams. In the template below, I show you my way of doing it:
